What happens if I have insufficient or incomplete bank transaction data?
In order to process your loan application, we need to be able to analyse all of your income and expenditure. If we haven't been able to do this yet, it may be because:

  • You haven't linked your primary bank account with your main source of income
  • You recently moved banks meaning we can only see 3 months or less of data
  • You transfer your income to another unlinked account from which your main bills are paid
If any of the above reasons are true, we encourage you to apply again and link any additional accounts you have!
What happens if my income is not recognised as eligible or expenses not classified correctly in the app?
As soon as you apply for a loan, we do our best to automatically categorise all of your income and expenditure.

But we're still learning, and while we manually check how the computer has done, there are a few things that can confuse our algorithm, such as:

  • Lots of interpersonal transfers with funny descriptions
  • Transfers to your other, unlinked accounts
  • Savings "pots", such as those used by Monzo, which are often used for savings

If you think we've made a mistake, don't worry, you can fill in a self-assessment via the app. We may then contact you to provide some additional info.
